The Great Fire of London begins
A fire in a Pudding Lane bakery spreads across the medieval City of London.
Over four days the fire destroyed some 13,000 houses and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Rebuilding gave London Christopher Wren’s new St Paul’s and stricter building rules.
